Is there no theory for the Dravidian model?
The Tamil Hindu (February 21) newspaper has published an article trying to show that the Chief Minister MK Stalin is being seduced by an article, entitled ‘Can the budget debate change direction?’ What is more dangerous than a lie is half truth. The article alleges that the DMK, which proposes the “Dravidian model” as an alternative to the BJP’s “Gujarat model” and the Aam Aadmi Party’s “Delhi model”, lists social welfare schemes without elaborating on the principle for the Dravidian model. Gujarat Model – pure Communalism, and Privatization. The Aam Aadmi model is a model that has no model of its own. The article also equates the Dravidian model with these.
The article, which claims that the Dravidian model is only for social welfare schemes, refutes itself. “This article highlights Professor Kalaiyarasan’s Dravidian Model book reference to wage inequality in Tamil Nadu and declining quality of higher education, in which it responds that the government’s focus is on it. The article also answers its own question that the Chief Minister is creating an ‘intellectual city’ with branches of world-renowned universities. The article goes on to point out that Dravidian’s model writers point to the need to create equal wage – paying employment and the article also answers to its own. An example is the Chief Minister’s realization of its immediate need and the launch of a furniture park in Thoothukudi to provide employment to 17,476 people. The article also responded to its accusation
The article alleges that the allocation of Rs 5 crore for the translation of Periyar texts is being talked about in the budget debate in the Assembly without holding discussions on the financial statement with a project cost of Rs 3,36,000 crore. Tens of thousands of people are watching the proceedings of the assembly live. Those who watch live TV shows know that the debate is not just about Periyar.
The Dravidan model is not only paralyzed with social welfare schemes, but also with industry development in Tamil Nadu and its related capital acquisition steps, incorporating various concepts into activities such as Tamil Nadu’s autonomy, rights, feminism, anti-Hindi, home-seeking medicine facilities, home-seeking education, scheme of Nan Muthalvan (Myself Cheif) where 10 lakh young people a year as skilled and technologically savvy, formulating Tamil Nadu education policy as an alternative to the national education policy and transparent administration. Dravidian model is implementing every day by all these and dont know why the article tries to hidden the truth.
Many changes have taken place in the economic outlook since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the US double-tower attack and the international capitalism that pervades international politics in the name of globalization. In economic terms, communism speaking China has opened the door to a market economy and international financial investments, and in India ruled by communists in West Bengal, even in Kerala, multinational corporations have come to the point where they need to restrict their investments from being privatized. According to the author, the Gandhian economy has to be looked at through a magnifying glass. Ignoring these realities, this article seeks out a number of weak arguments to dismiss the DMK’s Dravidian model as having no theory.
Periyar texts should be nationalized. We also fully support the article’s request that Periyar’s writing and speech be initiated after the Kudiarasu period. But we strongly suspect that those comments are an attempt to tarnish the image of the DMK with foul intent, with the intention of adding strength to those arguments.
The article alleges that the news of tea drinking at the tea shop on the side of the road is magnified more than the big business development projects started by the Chief Minister. There was news in the media that he was drinking tea and that the Chief Minister was laying the foundation stone for the Furniture Park too. It seems to have gone unnoticed by the writer in particular, the Hindu-English daily ‘TamilNadu Focus’ has been compiling and publishing extensive research articles on Tamil Nadu’s economic development projects.
It is only natural that good governance should be praised. Is the columnist coming to say that the Tamil Nadu government should enact an emergency law that no one should appreciate in the first place? On the contrary, the article goes on to say with ultimate absurdity that these compliments undermine the important work of the chief Minister is slander. The meaning of MK Stalin’s words “Many are coming in various masks to oppose the regime,” is understandably compelling when reading this article.
